L. Philip Lamothe, 93, of Vero Beach, FL died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Lamothe was born August 16, 1915 in West Warwick, RI and moved to Vero Beach in 1996 from Ft. Pierce where he had moved to in 1983 from Bellingham, MA.
Prior to his retirement he had been an Industrial Engineer in the garment manufacturing industry. Mr. Lamothe was a parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Vero Beach, the Ostomy Club of Vero Beach, the Serra Club of Indian River County and had served as Chairman of the School Committee in Lincoln, RI.
Mr. Lamothe is survived by his wife, Irene, of 69 years. Survivors also include one daughter and three sons, Lucille Brennan of The Villages, FL, Norman Lamothe of The Villages, FL, Ronald Lamothe of Woonsocket, RI, and Gerard Lamothe of Vero Beach; a brother, Donat Lamothe of Moosup, CT; a sister, Mrs. Theresa Rose of West Warwick, RI as well as nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers Lionel Lamothe, Adrien Lamothe and Roland Lamothe, as well as his parents Louis and Rosalba Lamothe.
Services: The family will receive friends and family 5-8 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM, Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach followed by interment at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
