L. Wayne Wadsworth, 75, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Wadsworth was born September 25, 1936 in Sycamore, AL and moved to Vero Beach in 1952 from his place of birth..

He had been the Manager of the Assembly Division at Piper, retiring after 30 years of service, and for the past several years was a Property Manager at John's Island. Mr. Wadsworth had played Minor League Baseball with the Dodger's in Vero Beach, served as Little League Baseball Chief Umpire and was the manager/coach of the Press Journal Little League Baseball team for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Church and had served as the Head Usher at First Church of God in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carol Love Wadsworth of Vero Beach; three sons Scott Wadsworth of Trussville, AL, Kelly Wadsworth of Vero Beach and Mitch Wadsworth of Pell City, AL; a daughter Gena Comes of Vero Beach; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Church, 455 58th Avenue SW, Vero Beach, FL 32968.

Services: The family will receive friends 6-9 PM, Monday, November 28, 2011 at Immanuel Church in Vero Beach. His Life Celebration Service will begin at 2 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Immanuel Church. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
