Larry W. Larsen, 64, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Larsen was born August 15, 1947 in Shreveport, LA. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from Port Saint Lucie.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
He worked as an independent truck driver for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years Leisa; daughter Yvette Miller of Brenham, TX; step-sons Jeff Fitzwater of Duluth, MN, Michael Fitzwater of Vero Beach, and Larry W. Smith of Vero Beach; step-daughters Tara Norton of Fort Pierce and Krystal Skala of Lakewood Park; brother James H. Larsen of Kingwood, TX; sister, Helen K. Kuss of Savannah, GA; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of South Florida at 2020 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.
Services: Services are planned for a later date in May.
