Obituary

Laura Ann Dangler, 61, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on May 14th, 2026, with her children by her side. Born on July 30, 1964, in Michigan City, Indiana, Laura grew up on a farm in Wanatah where she fell in love with animals and the simple rhythm of life. She attended La Crosse High School. In 1980, Laura traded haystacks for beaches when her family moved to Vero Beach, Florida, where she attended Vero Beach High School.

Laura spent over thirty years in the hospitality industry, making life-long friends along the way. Her love of cats came to define her as she bred her beloved silver- and gold-tipped Persians and rescued many stray cats off the street, turning her home into a loving sanctuary of sorts. She found happiness in the ocean, sunbathing, gardening, watching her soap operas and going to the arcades. But the thing she enjoyed most was having a long, deep laugh with loved ones.

Laura was the kindest soul. She was there for everyone when they needed it, and her legacy of compassion and selflessness will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Cubow (Joseph); her father, Ronald Gundlach (Laurie); her brother, Ronnie Gundlach (Jennifer); her daughter, Tiffani Atteo; her son, John Atteo; and her granddaughter, Amberlyn Atteo, along with her nieces, extended family, and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Chris Dangler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Laura’s memory to H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue.
