Lawrence Abel, 76, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, July 19, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Abel was born May 28, 1934 in New York City, NY and moved to Vero Beach 10 years ago from Brooklyn, NY.
He had been a school bus driver for many New York City schools and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army. Mr. Abel was graduate of George Washington University and a member of The Crossing Community Church in Vero Beach, a member of many area bowling leagues and an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years Sharon Abel of Vero Beach, daughters Eileen Fisher and Janice Pam of New York, three grandchildren, dear friends the Doutrich Family and numerous bowling and card playing friends.
He was predeceased by a brother Marvin Abel.
Services: The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25, 2010 at The Crossing Community Church, 1198 90th Avenue, Vero Beach with a luncheon at 12 Noon and a life celebration service at 1 PM. Inurnment will be at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
