Lawrence Wendell Carlen's Obituary
Lawrence Wendell Carlen, 73, of Fort Pierce, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Carlen was born October 3, 1938 in Hannibal, MO. He had been a resident of Fort Pierce for over 40 years, coming from Hannibal.
He retired from Saint John's Water Management after 10 years, and owned Wen's Welding for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Georgia; son Brian (Bobbie) Carlen of Sebastian; daughters Brenda Jackson and Shelly Carlen both of Fort Pierce; brother Connie Carlen of Hannibal, MO; sisters Jane Keith of Hannibal, MO and Louann Carlen of Hull, IL; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Andrew Carlen.
A celebration of Wendell's life will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Old City Hall at 315 Avenue A, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at PO Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
