Lee Turner von Stein, 78, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, November 26, 2009.
Lee was born November 4, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 2000 from Fort Lauderdale, FL.
In 1953, he graduated from Lafayette College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Engineering. Following college he served several years as a Lieutenant in the United States Army, and was stationed outside Stuttgart, Germany. After returning from Germany, Lee worked 15 years for Florida Power and Light where he eventually became the Broward County Supervisor of Overhead Lines. He then joined his father and brother at Charles A. von Stein, Inc. where he enjoyed a successful career in property management and real estate development. Lee was also a member of the Indian River Club in Vero Beach, FL, the Hound Ears Club in Blowing Rock, NC, and the Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach, MN
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Jan von Stein of Vero Beach, FL; sons Kirk von Stein of Vero Beach, FL, Bruce von Stein of Plymouth, MN, and John von Stein of St. Louis Park, MN; daughter-in-law Casey von Stein of St. Louis Park, MN; and grandson Ben von Stein of Plymouth, MN.
Services: At the request of the family, a private family sunrise service will be held on Monday, November 30th.
