Leo P. Welch's Obituary
Leo P. Welch, 88, of Hobe Sound, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Martin Memorial North Hospital.
Mr. Welch was born September 9, 1925 in Hammond, IN. He had been a resident of Hobe Sound for 24 years, coming from Indiana.
He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Leo was a Past Commander of the VFW and was a member of the American Legion.
Prior to his retirement he served as Clerk Treasurer in Griffith, IN for 8 years. Later he worked in sales for Christenson Chevrolet in Highland, IN.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Helen; daughter, Norma Bonilla; daughter, Jane Holmes; son, Jim Welch; daughter, Nancy Nazari; son, Robert Welch; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Novotney.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research at 1309 North Flagler Drive, 5th Floor, and West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. Online condolences may be sent at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
