Leonardo Garcia, age 73, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Hamrick Home. He had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1984 and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church
He was preceded in death by sons Manuel, Antonio, and Pascual; and his parents, Regino Garcia and Sofia Jaimes.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa M. Avellaneda; son, Heradio Garcia of Okeechobee; and daughters, Rafaela (Jose) Garcia of Mexico, Maria J. (Miguel) Garcia of Okeechobee, Lucia (George) Garcia of Houston, Tex., Dominga (Consa) Garcia of Santa Clarita, Calif., Yazmin (Steve) Garcia of Houston, Tex., and Araceli (Elias) Garcia of Delray Beach, Fla.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Mar. 11, 2011, at 3497 N.W. 30th Ave. (Basswood) beginning at 5 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, Mar. 12, 2011, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Buckhead Ridge. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
