Lester Forman Sickels, 83, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Atlantic Healthcare Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Sickels was born April 1, 1926 in Cleveland, OH. He had lived in Vero Beach intermittently, but permanently moved to Vero Beach two years ago from Hollywood, FL.
During World War II, he served as a Sonar Technician in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Sickels was a man of many talents but was predominantly an electrician.
Survivors include his wife Kathryn of Vero Beach; his children Lynn A. Dwyer of Port St. Joe, FL, Bonnie Quay of Streetsboro, OH; James Sickels of Kennewick, WA; Deborah Gebo of Aurora, OH; Lester E. Sickels of Bonifay, FL; and Marjorie Lynch of South Euclid, OH; his sister Ruth Cook of Vero Beach; twelve grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services: A memorial service will take place 11 AM, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. The service will be presided by The Rev. Thomas Dwyer (son-in-law), and The Rev. Earl Sickels (cousin).
