Lillian Simon, 89, of Vero Beach, FL died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mrs. Simon was born November 20, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 2005 from Babylon, NY.
She was of the Jewish faith. Mrs. Simon owned a Candy Store and Luncheonette in Lindenhurst, NY. However, her life was devoted to caring for her Downs Syndrome son, Samuel Simon, until his death. She was a founding member of the Hauppauge, NY Association for the Help of Retarded Children.
Survivors include her son Ira Simon of Vero Beach, daughter Sarah Sally Cooper of North Babylon, Long Island, NY, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: Mrs. Simon will be transferred to Long Island, NY where a service will be held at Temple Beth Shalom followed by interment at Wellwood Cemetery in Pinelawn, Long Island, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA / Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
