Lily (Gartside) Coombs was escorted by angels home to Heaven on Monday December 5, 2016 in Vero Beach, Florida, where she had made her home for the last 12 yrs.

Lily was born in 1920 in Lancashire, England, daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Barrott) Gartside. She now joins her husband, Norman Coombs and daughter, Norma (Coombs) Gershkoff. Lily is survived by her loving
daughter, Susan (Coombs) Corrigan of Vero Beach; grandsons, Jason Corrigan of Port St Lucie and Eric Corrigan of Green Cove Springs, all in Florida. She is also survived by her only sister, Ida Farnworth of Lincoln, RI, and Vero Beach, FL and two nieces.

Lily spent most of her life in Lincoln, RI where she and Norman raised their family and were members of Christ Church, Lincoln, RI, and St John's Church, Cumberland, RI. She was active in the women's group and volunteered at VA Hospital in Providence, RI. She moved to Vero to be near her family and quickly made friends in her apartment complex. She enjoyed attending Bible studies. She was a member of Christ Church Vero Beach.

Lily will be remembered by her smile, positive spirit, her faith, sense of humor and love for family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 27th at Christ Church Vero Beach at 2 pm.
