Lina Masmontet, 65, of Vero Beach, surrounded by her family passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at VNA Hospice House.

She was born on June 1, 1948 in Havana, Cuba and lived in Vero Beach for 50 years, coming from Miami, FL.

Prior to her retirement she worked for the Indian River County Schools for 8 and ½ years.

Ms. Masmontet was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her parents, Hubert and Carlina both of Vero Beach, FL; sons: Ty Barnes of West Palm Beach, FL; Drew Barnes of Vero Beach, FL and Matt Barnes of Vero Beach, FL; companion, Richard Gooding of Vero Beach, FL.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen's Catholic Church on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 12:00 Noon. A gathering will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach, FL.
