Linda Morris Johnson, a fourth generation Vero Beach resident, born March 14, 1943, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 20, 2016 amidst her family at the VNA Hospice House after a brief fight with cancer.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma McCall Morris and her father, Grady Thomas Morris. Her illustrious career path included working for the FBI and the Department of the Army at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She returned to Vero Beach, FL, where she met and married the love of her life Joseph D. Johnson, Sr. Together they owned and operated Johnson's Flower World for more than fifteen years. Linda and her husband were active members for the IRC Volunteer Ambulance Squad, leading to a career as a paramedic for Martin County EMS, Indian River Memorial Hospital, and Indian River County EMS for more than thirty years. Linda earned her nursing degree from Indian River State College and worked with VNA and private duty nursing through 2015.

Linda is survived by her husband, of 53 years, Joseph D. Johnson, Sr, and their two children, Joseph D. Johnson, Jr, and Elizabeth Johnson Thomas, daughter- in- law, Sherry Johnson and grandchildren, Joseph D. Johnson, III, and Kimberly Johnson, son-in-law, Dr. Joe Thomas, grandchildren, Curran and Dr. Kritika Thomas. Linda is also survived by her only sibling, Barbara Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach 1750 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL, 32960.
