Obituary

Lois Casey, 73, of Vero Beach, Florida, loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, sadly left us on May 25th, 2025 after bravely fighting a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah Casey, mother Ann Rose Gilla, father Steve I. Bojnansky, and brothers-in-law Lawrence Postmus and Pat Casey. She leaves behind her sister Carole Ann Postmus, brother Stephen Bojnansky (Karen), sister-in-law Kathy South (John), Mary Kelleher (Kevin), Margaret Peluso (Randy), John Casey (Suzie), and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was a woman of many interests and talents. She led a rich professional life, working for AT&T along with her husband Jerry. She then went back to her roots in education and became a substitute teacher in her early retirement years.

Lois was a devoted animal lover who gave them the same care and joy that they gave her. She cared for her huskies Nicky, Annie, Boo, and then Sasha as well as her feathered friends:  Buzz, her treasured African grey parrot, and then Gandalf, her cockatiel, over the years.

When not taking care of her animals, Lois enjoyed her other passions, traveling, sewing, and enjoying a nice meal with friends. She was a sewing enthusiast, learning new techniques for quilting with friends and creating beautiful works of art.

A memorial service to celebrate Lois's life will be held Saturday, June 7 at 11:30 am at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Lois will be remembered fondly for her graceful, gentle nature, positivity and humor in the face of adversity, and strong affection for animals.
