Lois Marie Meise Hetherman of Ft. Pierce, Florida was born on November 3, 1924 in Sauk City, WI. She was the daughter of Mathias & Anges Meise, long-time bakery owners. Lois went to her Lord on March 2, 2020.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Thomas J Hetherman, long-time Director of the Saginaw County United Way of Michigan. She was also preceded in death by sister Elaine and brother-in-law Jack Vetter of Vero Beach, FL.
Lois is survived by loving daughter Tara Michaels of Issaquah, WA and son Tom Hetherman and wife Denise of Charleston, SC. She will be missed by grandsons Justin Hetherman of Madison, WI and Chad Hetherman and wife Alyssa of Charlotte, NC.
After working as a secretary at the Baraboo Wisconsin Hercules Powder Plant in World War II, she became a full-time wife and mother.
She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas of Saginaw, MI and St. Helen's of Vero Beach, FL Catholic Churches.
She was often found volunteering at her children's activities and later at the Saginaw General Hospital gift shop and the Saginaw Children's Zoo and for the United Way. Later in Vero Beach, she volunteered at the Indian River Hospital Thrift Store. She was a long-time resident and board member at the Golf Lake Villas Condos.
She was an avid life-long reader and loved Hallmark and old cowboy movies. She was remembered for her sharp mind and good sense of humor.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Dogs & Cats Forever No-kill Shelter of Ft. Pierce and The Hospice of Okeechobee, Fl.
