Lois S. Rattray, 90, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the home of her granddaughter.
Mrs. Rattray was born November 23, 1918 in Pine Hill, AL and moved to Vero Beach in 1956.
She served in the American Red Cross during World War II in both England and Okinawa . After completing business college in Birmingham, AL she moved to Vero Beach and assisted her husband, Dr. C. F. Rattray, Jr. in his medical practice until 1968. She was a member of the First Church of God in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her daughter Helen (Jim) Crockett of Vero Beach, son Charles F."Buddy" (Candy) Rattray, III of San Antonio, TX, sister Fontaine Wilhelm of Deanville, TX, brother Frank Shamburger of Chatom, AL, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Services:
Services: The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 24th, at the First Church of God Prayer Chapel, 1105 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32966. Mrs. Rattray will be transferred to the OBryant Funeral Home in Thomasville, AL for a graveside service at the family plot on Saturday, February 28th.
At her request,in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as tax-exempt contributions to the Masters Academy School, 1105 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32966 for the "Lois S. Rattray Scholarship Fund."
