DRIGGERS, Lucious Alton (AL), Jr. 85, passed away January 27, 2009. Mr. Driggers was a native of Jacksonville and a graduate of Robert E. Lee highschool. He entered the Navy in 1941 and is a veteran of WWII. He than served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Duval County Road Patrol in the 1950's, before entering the US Coast Guard, from which he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. After his military career, Mr. Driggers managed several dealership body shops and worked as an insurance adjuster in Jacksonville. He was also a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Driggers leaves his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Driggers, two daughters, Christine White (husband Randy) of Sebastian, Fl and Candace McGrath (husband Charles) also of Sebastian, FL, five grandchildren, Kristina White, Esq. Of Tallahassee, Randy White, Jr. (wife Deborah) of Jacksonville and Patrick White of Vero Beach, FL, Jonie Brittain (husband Gavin)of Virginia Beach, VA and Colleen McGrath of Auburn, AL. He also adored his four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Hunter White and Chase and Molly Brittain. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny, FL, on Saturday, Jan. 31st at 2:00 PM, with Fr. Edward Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
