Obituary

Lucy Countie, 84, of Fort Pierce died Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Countie was born May 2, 1928 in Block Island, RI. She had been a resident of Fort Pierce for over 20 years, coming from Johnston, RI.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a town clerk in Johnston, RI.

She was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint Helen Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and volunteered at the Indian River Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Spanish Lakes Country Club, and served on the home owners association there.

Survivors include her daughters Gail Casci of Johnston, RI and Judy Ethier of Smithfield, RI; son Robert Countie of South Kingstown, RI; brother Paul Mitchell of Florida; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Countie and brothers, Wilfred Mitchell and Leo Mitchell.

Services are planned for a later date in Rhode Island. Burial will be held privately.
