Madeline Cray Courant

Madeline Cray Courant, 89, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.

Born on June 30, 1936, in North Walpole, New Hampshire, Madeline graduated from Jackson College at Tufts University, where she met her future husband, Dr. Paul Richard Courant. They shared 62 devoted years of marriage and were longtime residents of Carlisle, Massachusetts.

Madeline was an educator and a dedicated member of the local school committee. An avid tennis player, Madeline also enjoyed gardening and traveling throughout her life.

Madeline is survived by her four children: Lyann Courant (Michael Collins), Eben Courant, Elizabeth Courant, and Catherine Courant Taylor (Peter Taylor). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Eben, Paul, Peter, and Neil Collins; Cray and Madeline Taylor; and Anthony, Francis, and Rose Courant.

Madeline's legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the love she so generously shared.

A private service will be held at a later date.
