IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcia Katherine
Nevins
December 31, 1936 – July 20, 2021
Marcia Katherine Nevins peacefully passed on to heaven on July 20, 2021 at the VNA Hospice House surrounded by her family. Marcia was born on December 31, 1936 and was the daughter of Charles G. Yax and Marie (Drumm) Yax of Buffalo, NY. Marcia is survived by her four loving children, James (Lisa) Nevins and Elizabeth Casano of Vero Beach, Maureen (John) McGuire of Jensen Beach and Daniel Nevins of Melbourne.
Marcia was a loving Mom, who imparted to her children wise words of wisdom, both practical and humorous, to help navigate life's challenges. Marcia loved boating, picnics, family gatherings, the beach, and living near the ocean. She spent her entire life within a few miles of the Atlantic Ocean, first on eastern Long Island and then in Vero Beach.
Marcia was happily married for 38 years to the love of her life, Joseph Nevins, who predeceased her. Together they enjoyed sailing the Caribbean on cruise ships and flying to Nassau for long weekends of sun, the lazy river pool, and hoping to meet "Lady Luck" in the casino.
Marcia is survived by five grandchildren, Kathryn (Wesley) Casano Radecke, Savannah Nevins Campman, Eric (Corrine) Nevins, Nicole (Michael) Nevins Paradiso, Kyle Nevins (predeceased) and seven great grandchildren. All adored their "Grammie Nevins" and she likewise loved each and every one, never forgetting their birthdays or Christmas. She was especially thankful that the older ones would make a special effort to visit whenever possible.
Marcia is also survived by her two sisters, Susan (George) Sharpe and Mimi Klug, both residing in Vero Beach. Her two brothers, Charles Yax and Robert Yax predeceased her. Marcia and her sisters had a warm, loving and mutually supportive relationship.
Marcia had a notable career as a sales consultant for Coggin O'Steen Motors of Ft. Pierce consistently winning the monthly, quarterly, or annual prize for most productive sales person. She was truly beloved by her clients, and her consistent success in sales was a result of the parade of repeat customers who refused to deal with anyone else when purchasing a new Honda, BMW or Mercedes. Marcia impressed each client with her knowledge, honesty, and personal attention. Every client became her friend and the loyalty was mutual.
Marcia was especially thankful for the friendships and care provided to her at Solaris Senior Living. She was most grateful to Gina Buglione and her husband, Chris. She enjoyed her time on the sun porch reading, playing games and visiting with the other residents and their families.
Marcia's family is indebted to the nursing staff on the 4 th floor of Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital for their wonderful care.
Marcia leaves behind a wide range of people who were touched by her warmth, her love, her compassion, and her joy of life.
A memorial service and celebration of Marcia's life will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 12:00 noon in the chapel at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL.
Condolences can be made through Cox Gifford Seawinds .
