IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Ruth
Ostman
August 7, 1952 – August 3, 2025
Margaret Ruth (Branstad) Ostman
At the age of 72, Margaret Ostman was unexpectedly called home to our Savior on Sunday, August 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL. She now lives in the eternal joy and peace of Jesus Christ, reunited with her beloved husband Kristofer, her parents, and her sister.
Margaret was born on August 7, 1952, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Rev. Raymond and Lois Branstad. From the very beginning, faith and family were the cornerstones of her life. She grew up in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, later attending Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato and graduating from Augsburg University with a degree in communications. On June 9, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart and lifelong love, Kristofer Matthew Ostman. Together they raised three children.
Throughout her life, Margaret devoted herself to caring for others. She worked in human services and most recently served as Marketing Director of United Way. Beyond her career, she lived her faith daily, offering a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
After raising her children, Margaret and Kris retired to Vero Beach, FL, where she cherished time spent with her sisters and their families and depended on trips to spend time with her children.
As an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Margaret sang in the choir, participated in weekly bible studies, and found a special joy in teaching Sunday School. Her steady and unwavering faith carried her through life's trials and inspired everyone around her.
Margaret is now joyously reunited in heaven with her parents, Raymond and Lois; her husband, Kristofer; and her sister, Kirsten. She leaves behind her children Nathan (Heidi) Ostman, Kirsten (Paul) Fenner, and Benjamin (Ashley Gilbert) Ostman; her grandchildren Taylor (Jonah) Steinmeyer, Zachary (Sihyun) Ostman, Brooklyn and Brittany Fenner; and her great-grandchildren Lucy and Charlie Steinmeyer. She will also be dearly missed by her siblings, extended family, neighbors, dog Biscuit and countless friends whose lives were touched by her kindness.
Margaret's life was a testimony to the goodness of God. She was a faithful servant, a devoted wife and loving mother, a cherished sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a steadfast friend. Her legacy is one of compassion, grace, and quiet strength, and her family rejoices knowing she now rests in the arms of the lord.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1150 41st Avenue, Vero Beach, FL. 32960.
