Margaret Ann "Peg" Nielsen, 93, passed away peacefully with family at her side on January 7, 2019.

Peg was born in Jersey City, N.J. on December 29,1925 to James and Ellen Flynn and grew up in a loving Irish Catholic household. Her two brothers, James Flynn and William Flynn predeceased her as did her sister, Mary.  Her younger, beloved sister, Teresa (John) Quigley of Naples, Fl survives her.

Peg was a raven haired beauty and after the war won the title of Miss Northern New Jersey Recruit 1947.  One of her prizes was the opportunity to meet General Eisenhower in Washington, DC as well as an opportunity to start a modeling career, all of which she passed up to be a wife and mother.  She married the love of her life, Harold Nielsen, on December 7, 1946 and was blessed by God with six children. After her husband's premature death in 1980, she successfully managed her beachside rental property and worked in the travel industry. She sat on the Board of Directors of The Reef Ocean Resort for over 15 years, a job she relished with enthusiasm and charm.

She is survived by her daughters, Marguerite Hayes of Vero Beach, Laura Hemmings of Vero Beach, Helene Troisi (Richard) of Vero Beach;  sons, William Nielsen (Kathy) of Rockaway, NJ, Robert Nielsen (Bette) of Mine Hill, NJ, and Peter Nielsen of Vero Beach, along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. One of her beloved grandsons, Jason Troisi preceded her in death.  While she will be missed dearly by her many friends and family, her memory will fill many hearts with joy with the gift of her everlasting love.
