Marguerite Peggy Kolbe, 95, of Vero Beach, FL died Friday, January 29, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mrs. Kolbe was born August 21, 1914 in Charleroi, PA and moved to Vero Beach three years ago from Portland, OR.
She served in the US Navy during WWII as an Air Traffic Controller. Mrs. Kolbe was also a Professor of Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, playing golf and reading. She will be dearly remembered and we will miss her heartwarming smile and sweet personality.
Survivors include her nieces, Mary Beth Lucas (Terry), Carol Fritsch (Carl), Rossane Schillalies (Guenter), Norma Wellen; nephews David Parks (Kathy) and Richard; and her sister in law Esther Parks.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Kolbe; a nephew Bernard Parks; and a niece Marlys Fritzke (John).
Services: A memorial service will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
