Margurite L Van Wagner,(Peggy), 101, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, August 1, 2024, under the care of Home Hospice, and special care of Rebecca "Beki" Riley, and Kimberly Jacobus at Vista Plantation. Peggy was visited and comforted by family and friends during her hospice care. She was loved dearly by all that knew her.

She was born to the late Kenneth James Lamond and Margurite (Scott) Lamond on March 2, 1923.

Peggy graduated from Bassick High School, Bridgeport, Connecticut, class of 1940. She married the late Joseph Shea, 8-1-1954, who died in 1962. She remarried the late Frederick Van Wagner, (Van), 10-12-1968. Peggy and Van lived in Blowing Rock, North Carolina until Peggy moved to Vero Beach following Van's passing. Peggy was a member of St John of the Cross Church.

Peggy was so thankful for the help, companionship, and community of her church. Peggy worked most of her career at JC Bradley Insurance Company, Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1943-1985. She worked as a Secretary, Office Manager, and finally as an Executive Administrator.

She was recognized as smart, resourceful, and dependable. In later years, she worked at VB Furniture close to her home in Vero Beach.
Peggy loved to travel, especially on cruise ships. She was known among family and friends for her fantastic memory of dates and experiences. She was a storyteller. She could talk for hours about her long life, the trips, meetings, and experiences of hers, and others. She was special.

Peggy was predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth and William Lamond; and her sister, Janet Brittingham; stepsons: Bruce Van Wagner; Frederick Van Wagner III. She is survived by many friends, and several generations of loving nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on September 21, 2024, at St John of the Cross Church, Vero Beach, at 11:00 AM. She will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery next to Van in Blowing Rock, NC.
