Marian Betty Louise Scruggs, age 84 of Canal Point, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at her residence. Born in Panama City, she was a resident of Canal Point for over 40 years and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold J. Scruggs, Sr. and son, Steven Scruggs. She is survived by her son, Jay Scruggs (Shelia) of Sweetwater, Tenn and his children; Christa Haggins (Robby) of Belle Glade, Shelly Zeil (Stanley), Kelly Scruggs, Matthew Scruggs, Catlin Scruggs, Chloe Scruggs, and Clarissa Scruggs all of Sweetwater, Tenn., and her daughter, Kim Pellicer of Okeechobee, and her children; Tracy Pellicer of Okeechobee and Stephen Pellicer of Pahokee along with 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Judy Ainsworth of Clairmont, FL.

The family will receive friends at the Lakeside Baptist Church, 3055 Bacom Point Road, Pahokee, February, 18, 2011, from 11am till service time at noon. Interment will follow at Port Mayaca Cemetery.
