Marie Whitehead Banks, 90, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away March 14, 2018, at VNA Hospice House.

She was born January 10, 1928, in Albany, GA and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1960.  Marie graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Mrs. Banks was a devoted member of Christ By the Sea United Methodist Church, Vero Beach.  She participated in the weekly meetings of the Prayer Warriors.  She was a charter member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Chapter of Vero Beach, charter member of the Literacy Services of Indian River County and member of the Rose Circle Garden Club.

She leaves her memories to be cherished by her son, John E. Banks, Jr. of Vero Beach; daughter, Jill (Cliff) Higgins of Macon, GA and granddaughter, Lauren Higgins of Augusta GA.

A memorial service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Christ By the Sea United Methodist Church, Vero Beach.
