Marie L. Genereux, 94, of Ft. Pierce, passed on April 24 th , 2020 at Cleveland
Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. She was pre-deceased by her
husband Louis P. Genereux, in March of 2015.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on September 1 st , 1925, she had been a
resident of Ft. Pierce since 1997, coming from Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Marie is survived by her loving daughter Karen, future son-in-law Rick Slater, and
grandsons Ryan of San Jose, California, and Colin and Logan Smith of Denver,
Colorado. She is survived by her sister Rita Marques of Central Falls, Rhode Island,
sister Doris Laramee of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and her brother Roland Pepin of Ft.
Pierce, Florida. She is also survived by godchildren Ronald Pepin of Pawtucket, Rhode
Island and Renee Snook of Phelps, Wisconsin, and the beloved Aunt of many nieces,
nephews, and great-nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Marie worked for ITT Royale Electric in Accounts Payable for 25 years, retiring in
1986. Marie was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church, a member of TOPS of Vero
Beach, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Marie
enjoyed traveling, especially to see her family, loved to play cards, and was an avid
reader.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Paul II Church in Pawtucket,
Rhode Island this summer or fall as permitted, date and time to be advised due to the
social distancing requirements surrounding COVID19. Interment of her ashes will follow
at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
