Marjorie Lochen, 99, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012.
Marjorie was born in Dubuque, Iowa in the days of high button shoes and horse-drawn wagons, before refrigerators, television, radio, and computers. She was married to Joseph Lochen, her beloved husband, for forty-three years. Their marriage was an inspiration to her children for its love and respect.
Marjorie was a talented floral designer whose work took a top prize in a New York show. She was active in the Girl Scouts and led her troop from elementary school through high school and remained in contact with some of her "girls" until her death.
Marjorie was a life-long Christian Scientist and a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Vero Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, brother Frederick and sister Lorraine. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Staiger of Vero Beach, and her son, Thomas Lochen, of Chesapeake, Virginia, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a source of wisdom and comfort for all who needed it and she was at her best helping others.
