Mary L. Abbott, 92 of Vero Beach passed away December 23, 2022 at Willowbrooke Court in Vero Beach.

She was born, January 6, 1930 in Louisville, Kentucky. Mary grew up in Lansdale, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Lansdale High School, in 1947. She then went on to The Hahneman Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1950 and continued with her Bachelor's degree at The University of Pennsylvania. She later obtained her Master's degree from there as well.

After a hiatus of no study for several years, she completed her study in guidance counseling. During this period of time she worked as a nurse in various positions including private duty, supervisory and teaching. Mary was the Director of Nursing for twenty years at three different hospitals-Magee Memorial Rehabilitation Center, Philadelphia (9 years), Burlington County Memorial Hospital, Mt. Holly, New Jersey (6 years) and Chesire Hospital Keene, New Hampshire (5 years).

Mary is preceded in death by her husbands Thomas Foley and Kenneth Abbott; sister Dorothy and a brother, William. Survivors include her step-children Brian Foley, Ellen Raemsch, Anne Foley, Karen Swarts, Janet Jentilet, Wayne Abbott and Elllen Feleen and her step-grandchildren Madison and Sierra Foley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Indian River Estates West Auditorium at a later date.
