Mary Barbara Casper, age 103 (2 months shy of her 104th birthday), of Vero Beach died Tuesday, May 20, 2024, with her family by her side.

Mary was born on August 1, 1920, in South Bend, Indiana. She attended Washington High School & some college in South Bend, Indiana. She was married to the late James Casper, a highly decorated Air Force veteran. They lived together in South Bend until relocating to Florida.

Mary was an auditor for the state of Indiana, a bank teller and a reservationist at a well-known Florida resort before retiring at the age of 92. Her hobbies included needlepoint, sewing, knitting, crochet, ceramics, gardening, line dancing and she was an excellent cook and baker. Mary also

attempted golf, quickly realizing it would be a short-lived hobby.

Mary was an excellent example of 'the greatest generation'. Like her favorite singer Frank Sinatra, she did it her way!

Mary is survived by her daughter Barbara Casper of Vero Beach, FL. She is also survived by her favorite grand-cat, Evander!
