Mary G. Jernigin, 85, of Vero Beach passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Ms. Jernigin was born October 4, 1926 in Newport News, VA. She had been a resident of Vero Beach for over 10 years, coming from Titusville, FL.

Prior to her retirement she worked as an auditor for Butcher & Singer Bank in Philadelphia, PA and later for Barnett Bank in Miami, FL.

Survivors include her son, Robert Benjamin of Miami, FL; daughters, Janiece Lamn of Los Angeles, CA, Pamela Wigandt of Riverview, FL, Joanne Benjamin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Emmett Benjamin.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach, FL. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital .
