Mary Frances "Fran" Lockard, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

She was born to Frances and Carl Paxton on December 4, 1936 in Lexington, VA. Fran graduated from Pearisburg High School in 1955. She was married to Edward Bert Lockard in 1963. They lived together in Rockville, MD before relocating to Sunrise, FL in 1982. They retired and have lived in Vero Beach for more than 20 years.

Fran & Ed are members of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles.

Fran was predeceased in death by her parents; sister, Robin (Higgins) Rau and daughter, Cindy (Lockard) Mitchell. She survived by husband; daughter, Debra Lockard; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation is being held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 12- 1 pm with a memorial service at 1 pm at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th St.,  Vero Beach, FL 32960. Afterward, a gathering in Fran's honor will be held at the Booth Hall at the First Christian Church following the service.
