Mary Lou Phelan, 85, of Vero Beach, passed away on Monday, April 22nd, 2013 at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.

She was born on February 26, 1928 in Boston, MA and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 20 years.

Prior to her retirement Mrs. Phelan was an Elementary School Teacher for 20 years in New England.

She was a member of Our Lady of Elms in Chicopee, New England and a also a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, William Phelan Sr. of Vero Beach, FL; her two sons William Phelan Jr. of Acton, MA and John Phelan of Weymouth, MA; her daughter Catherine Colavecchio of Colchester, CT; and four grand-sons.

At the request of the family there would be no services at this time.
