Matthew John Halpin,77, of Vero Beach died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center.

He was born October 20, 1935 in New York. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for
6 1/2 years, coming from Plainview, NY.

He worked for the IBM Corporation for over 30 years, and retired as a financial analyst and oversaw stock holders relations.

Mr. Halpin was a parishioner of Saint John of the Cross. He was a resident of the Lakes of Pointe West.

Survivors include his sons, John Halpin, Brian (Gina) Halpin, Kevin (Colleen) Halpin; daughters, Ellen Halpin, Doreen (James) Cass, Karen (Michael) Murray; eleven grandchildren, Briana, Jessica, Jacklyn, Samantha, Megan, Katie, Erin, Matthew, Grace, Liam, and Patrick.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Halpin; and two sisters Rosemary Glynn and Margaret Millard.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A funeral mass will take place at Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m..

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
