IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maudine Trice
Dorsky
July 28, 1932 – June 24, 2021
Maudine Trice Dorsky of Indian River Shores passed away June 24, 2021. She was 88. She was born July 28, 1932 in Griffin, Georgia to the late James Emory Trice and Annie Lucille (English) Trice. She graduated from Milner High School. Maudine was predeceased by her four brothers, James B. Trice, Winfred Trice, and twins Herbert Calvin Trice and David Alvin Trice.
Maudine married the late Joseph Clyde Dorsky February 25, 1970. She traveled with him as he retired as Commander from the United States Coast Guard, then served in city governments in Massachusetts and Michigan, ultimately settling in Indian River Shores, Florida. Maudine became active in church and choir, Vero Beach Choral Society, and Orchid Society. She and Joe organized ushering for many area musical events. Both were avid tennis players.
Maudine and Joe loved to travel. They attended several of Joe's class reunions at the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut, and traveled throughout the United States and Europe. But both agreed the highlights of their travels were the many voyages to the Bahamas and along the Eastern Seaboard on their 41 foot sailboat, the Koinonia.
Maudine is survived by her two daughters, Linda Eubanks of Indian River Shores and Janice Flewelling of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Joseph (Haley) Eubanks of Dawsonville, Georgia and Jessica Zapata and Matthew Flewelling, both of Houston. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Sarah and Emma of Dawsonville and Nicolas, Natalie and Nolan of Houston.
A memorial service will be held for Maudine at the Community Church of Vero Beach at 11:00 AM on January 21, 2022. She will be interred with Joseph at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Community Church of Vero Beach, the Parkinson's Foundation or the Visiting Nurses Association of Vero Beach.
