Maureen Toohey, née Thompson, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away May 4, 2019.

She was born in Liverpool, England on June 27, 1939, daughter of Patrick and Mary (Molly) Thompson.

Maureen immigrated to the US in 1981 with her husband, Bernard, and their children, residing in Miami, FL, Richmond, VA, and eventually to Vero Beach, FL for their retirement in 2002 where they loved their new home, close to sisters Joan and Kathleen, and made many wonderful friends.

Maureen is survived by her husband, Bernard Toohey — they married March 29, 1958, in Liverpool, England. She was a devoted, loving mother to Debbie Toohey Jones, Bernard P. Toohey, Irene Toohey Murphy and her husband Richard, Paul Toohey, and Gary Toohey and proud Nana to her 11 grandchildren, Michael, Kelly and her husband Drew, Bernard Jr. (BJ), Brittany and her husband Max, Sarah, Kevin, Nikki, Brandy, Gary A., Levi, Betty Sabrina. She is also survived by her brother, Patrick, and sisters, Eileen, Peggy, Joan, and Ann and numerous nieces and nephews as the Aunty with the biggest heart and smile!

Maureen was preceded in death by her brother, James, and sister, Kathleen.

A visitation will be held 1-2 pm, Saturday, May 11, 2019, followed by a 2:00 pm Prayer Service at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
