Merrill Jean Barber Dick, 73, of Vero Beach, FL passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Indian River Medical Center.

Merrill was born in Vero Beach, FL to the late Merrill P and Helen Clarkson Barber.  She was a follower of Jesus Christ.  After graduating in 1963 from Vero Beach High School, she attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.  This is where she met the love of her life, James Dick.  While at William and Mary she was a member of the DAR, Colonial Dames and Kappa Kappa Gamma.  She retired in 1983 from the Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern VA after serving as a teacher and administrator.

Merrill had a love for her country and a strong desire to travel in her RV and visit every single state.   She loved traveling, meeting new people and learning about this great country of hers.  She had a great love for her family, friends and community after moving back to the Vero Beach area in 1998.  She thoroughly enjoyed being able to participate in her grandsons lives.

She leaves to treasure her memory, her loving husband of 52 years, James Dick; son, Barber Wesley (Deena) Dick; 3 grandsons; Braden, Trevor and Travis Barber Dick; 3 nieces, Vicki Stabile-Stoker, Pamela Stabile and Karen Bacal Switzer and 2 nephews, Merrill Philip Stabile and Jay Bacal.
