Michael Thomas St Charles, Sr.

Michael Thomas St Charles, Sr., age 72, was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to Agnes and Willard St Charles. Michael was the youngest of six children. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jeanette Fikany and Leo St Charles. He is survived by sisters Mary Dean, Patricia Clark and Shirley Leitner,Dawley.
Michael bravely fought an aggressive cancer for four months, losing his battle, April 9, 2014. He went on to embrace eternal life, surrounded by his wife and family members at Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, Florida.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, married 51 years and 8 months. They have been sweethearts since 2nd grade, and have shared a lifetime of loving, laughter, caring for, and cherishing each other. God's mercy and grace impassioned their faith, and enriched every aspect of their lives. They celebrate the love and commitment of their four married children; Michelle (David) Hogarth, Theresa (Adam) Alumbaugh, Michael Jr (Andrea) St Charles and Christopher (Sarah) St Charles, all residing in Michigan. Michael is also survived by eight loving grandchildren; David and Rachael Hogarth, Sarah and Amanda Alumbaugh, Luke and Autumn St Charles, and Madelyn and Michael St Charles.
Michael and Nancy have spent winters on Florida's Treasure Coast, North Hutchinson Island. They have enjoyed twelve active years of retirement. In summer, they reside at their family home in Clarkston.
Michael was a respected project manager and electrical superintendent, attaining a 50 year Master's Electrical award this year. Michael was an avid golfer and enjoyed many sporting activities, especially Florida deep-sea fishing trips with his children in the past few years. He walked daily in Michigan and Florida, making many friendships during his lifetime. He delighted in serving people, in any capacity. He never tired of charitable volunteerism, short term missionary efforts in Mexico, Matthew's Caf and, Mustard Seed Thanksgiving outreach in Ft Pierce, Florida.
Michael embraced his Christian commitment and lived a full and rewarding life. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Bryan Wenger, will be held at South Tiara, North Hutchinson Island, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11 AM. Also, in Michigan, a memorial service will be celebrated at Five Points Community Church, Auburn Hills, Michigan, with date to be determined. Arrangements coordinated by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.
