Michel Shelly Fortier, age 53, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Raulerson Hospital. Relocating from Rhode Island, she was a resident of Okeechobee since 1986. She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church.
Church, family and animals were an important part of her life.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Bob Bubba; son, Robert Fortier, Jr.; daughter, Nicole Nikki Fortier, all of Okeechobee; granddaughter, Alana Michel Powell of Miami; mother, Valerie Basquette of Rosemead, Calif.; sister, JoLynn (David) Wilson of Henderson, NV; and her beloved pet Buddy. She was also surrounded by a large, loving family of in-laws.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, at 3:00 PM at Corner Stone Baptist Church, 18387 Highway 441 N., with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Shellys name be made to Corner Stone Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1712, Okeechobee, FL 34973.
