Miguel Coln, 78, of Vero Beach, Florida died, Thursday, April 25, 2013 at VNA Hospice House.
He was born April 12, 1935 in Vieques, Puerto Rico and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2009, coming from St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
Mr. Coln was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam where he was held as a Prisoner Of War.
He retired after 15 years as a corrections officer with the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections.
Mr. Coln was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. He was also a member of the American Legion, Vero Beach.
Survivors include his daughter, Maria Waleska Coln of Vero Beach; sons, Miguel Coln, Jr. of St. Croix and Nikita Khruchev Coln of Puerto Rico; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Lenin Coln in 1988.
Inurnment will take place in St. Croix at a later date. No local services will be held.
