M. P. Waalewyn, known as "Pat" passed away on February 22, 2016 at her home in Vero Beach, FL after a long battle with cancer. Her many friends were very helpful.

She was born in West Palm Beach, December 8, 1924, and the family moved to Caribou, Maine, in 1930, then to Houlton, Maine in 1933, where she grew up. After graduating with high honors from Houlton High School, she went to work for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad as Secretary to the Manager. After ten years, she retired and went to work for the Aid Department of the Federal Government, serving overseas for twenty years in different posts in Iraq, Pakiston, Uganda and Nigeria in Africa and then on to Taiwan and Thailand in the far East. She was caught in the unrest in Laos and reassigned to Washington, DC. There she retired to take care of her mother in Pompano Beach, FL.

Pat leaves a brother, John Waalewyn and his wife Martha, of New Market, NH; her nephews, Kaarl Waalewyn of Haverhill, MA and his two children, Brittany and Austin Waalewyn; Jan Waalewyn and his wife Joanne of Gloucester, MA and Hillsboro Beach, FL.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
