Monica Ann Bowhay, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. She was born in Morristown, New Jersey, February, 1947 to James Francis Griggs and Kathleen Joyce Griggs, nee Murray.

She was one of five children and was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen, and brother James. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Richard Allen Bowhay, Jr of Vero Beach, Florida and two brothers, Christopher Griggs and Steven Griggs.

Monica had a long productive career in the information technology field beginning with Western Electric as supervisor of data processing, then on to General Dynamics as the Data Center Operations Manager, followed by a stint at United Computing Systems where she designed, developed and installed applications for customers and finally a long tour of duty at AT&T Network Systems and Lucent Techologies.

When she wasn't working she could be found on a tennis court where she was an accomplished player. Since she was a certified Master Knitter in the U.S. Knitting Guild Association, she might also have been seen knitting one of her creations in between her other activities.
