Nannie P. Barker, 93 died Monday, February 16, 2009 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. She was born December 29, 1915 in Dunnellon, Florida and married Judson P. Barker in October of 1938. Always living in the state they settled in Vero Beach in 1956. Nannie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach and a member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority serving as past President both of the local and state organizations. She was a housewife and worked part time at Alma Lees. She later joined her husband as owner/operator of Barker Electric until her retirement. In 1991 she was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Judson P. Barker. Her survivors include her sons, Judson P. Barker, Jr (Kathy), William H. Barker (Penney) and a daughter Nancy B. Bruno of Stuart, FL, eleven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The service will be on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach with Dr. Charles Lever officiating. A private interment will be at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
