Obituary

Norman Albert Boulais, Sr., 88, of Vero Beach passed away on August 23, 2017.

Al was born in Hartford, CT., July 12, 1929 to Lillian and Albert Boulais. He lived most of his life in Vernon, Connecticut. Before retirement he worked at Manchester Motor Sales and Manchester Plymouth. Upon retirement in 1995, he moved to Vero Beach, FL. He was a member of Rhode Island Mobile Sports Fisherman, Manchester Area Ostomy Association, St. Vincent de Paul Society and Vero Beach Orchid Society.

Al volunteered at Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, VBOS Orchid shows, as well as beach cleanups in both Rhode Island and Florida for many years. His passion was surf fishing at Round Island and spending precious time with his family. He was a communicant at St. Helen's Church in Vero Beach.

Al was married 66 years and survived by his wife Katharine Williams Boulais. Al is survived by his four children and spouses Norman and Karen Boulais Jr., Robert and Linda Boulais, Rosemary and Stuart Lanz, Carolyn and Thomas Burke. Al is also survived by six grandchildren Michelle and Matt Pace, Thomas Lanz and Kathi Wood, Katharine Lanz, David Boulais and Carmen Parra Chacon, Nicholas Burke and Ryan Burke. Al also had the pleasure of having five great grandchildren Sylvia Lanz Mathews, Jay Lanz, Jaxson Pace, Gianna Pace and Alfred Boulais. Al is also survived by his sister Doris Jagoutz, sister-in-law Mary Blanchard as well as two special people in his life Jennifer Friesing and Ashleigh Yelton.

A gathering will be held on Tuesday, August 29th from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Cox Gifford Seawinds in Vero Beach followed by an 8:00PM prayer service. A mass will be held at St Helens Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 30th at 10:00AM.

A memorial will be held in Vernon, CT at a later date.

In place of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St Helen Catholic Church, memo the Building Fund in honor of Norman Boulais, at 2085 Tallahassee Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or VNA and Hospice Foundation, located at 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
