Norris Harold Olson, 93, passed away on February 22, 2018.  Norris was born on September 2, 1924 in Miles City, Montana, the son of Swedish immigrants. He was raised in Horicon, Wisconsin and graduated from Horicon High School as its class valedictorian.  It was there that he developed his love of all sports, lettering in football, basketball and track. His education at the University of Wisconsin was interrupted when he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.  With a passionate love for his country, he flew 70 successful missions as a B-25 tail gunner, and was awarded five air medals for his valor.

After his service Norris returned to the University of Wisconsin, where he was president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and graduated with honors.  Norris' successful business career ultimately took him to Columbus, Ohio in 1951, where he was co-founder and president of Plaskolite, Inc.  In 1966, he sold his business and moved his family to Vero Beach, Florida. There he pursued his interest in the financial securities business and began a second career with Goodbody Securities, Inc.  He subsequently opened and managed the Vero Beach Merrill Lynch branch office, where he worked until his retirement in 1990.

Norris will always be remembered for the profound impact he had on others as a leader, mentor and friend. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. His selfless devotion to his family and his high moral character were respected by all who knew him. As a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for over fifty years, he practiced his steadfast faith and love of God.
Norris was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Harriet Carran Olson, his son, Eric Olson and grandson, Daniel Olson. He is survived by his sons, Charles (Cheryl) Olson, David (Katie) Olson, Mark (Sue) Olson and daughter Amy (Tommy) Thalman. Also surviving him is his devoted wife of 24 years, Millinda "Duch" Olson, her four children and their families.  In addition, he leaves behind ten grandchildren.  Although he no longer has an earthly presence, his legacy will carry on forever through all who knew and revered him.
