Nyle O. Fox, 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. His loving wife, Sandra Buis Fox, their three daughters, and six grandchildren were by his side. He fought the good fight after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer sixteen months ago.
Nyle graduated with the 1959 class of Van Buren High School. He acquired his Bachelor's of Education Degree and his Master's Degree at Ball State, then earned his Education Specialist Degree at St. Francis. He spent his career as a teacher, coach, High School principal, and Superintendent of Schools. He taught and coached at Andrews High School, was Dean of Students at Waukegan, IL, and principal at Crothersville, Wolcott, and Winchester, Indiana. He then spent a few years as Superintendent at Randolph Southern Schools but missed the student interaction and went back to being principal in Syracuse, Indiana, as well as Edon, Ohio. He had a wonderful relationship with the students and faculties.
Nyle's main interest was his family, but he also enjoyed golfing with his friends, cutting firewood, reading, playing cards, swimming, and boating.
Nyle was preceded in death by his parents, Oris and Edna Fox, and one brother, Noel Fox. Survivors include his beautiful wife, Sandra (Buis) Fox; his sister, Nona Kreischer; three loving daughters, Kelly (Ben) Cupp, Christie (John) Green, and Julie (Chris) Smiley, six adoring grandchildren; Shelby Harney, Macy Cupp, Summer Green, Autumn Green, Payton Smiley and Dalton Smiley, and his precious great granddaughter, Nyla Smeltzer.
