Olga Esther Cruz, 77, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at her residence. Born in Camaguay, Cuba, she relocated to Miami in 1960. She lived in Okeechobee for the past 33 years. She was of the Catholic faith. Her animals and cooking were her favorite pastimes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Cruz and two sisters. She is survived by four children, Margarita (Jose), Ramon, Eddie (Mary), Maria Elena; grandchildren, Margarita, Sonia (Joe), Maria Elena (Jorge), all of Sarasota, Ed, Kylie, Kaylee, all of Okeechobee, and five residing in Cuba; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Tatum, Sebastian, all of Sarasota, Chloe of Okeechobee, and five residing in Cuba; and one great-great-grandchild residing in Cuba.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Buxton-Seawinds
Chapel at 11 a.m. until service time of 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in memory of Olga to the funeral home.
