IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia "Pat"
Ann Batt
October 19, 1939 – July 29, 2024
Patricia A. Batt, 84, affectionately known as "Pat," "Mom," or "Nana," of Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving children.
Born on October 19, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, Pat lived a life full of love and adventure. She lived in Shirley, New York for many years before retiring to Vero Beach, FL, in 1993 with her beloved husband, Ray. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Pat dedicated herself to her family with unwavering love and care.
Before marriage, Pat worked as a legal secretary, showcasing her intelligence and independence. She then devoted herself entirely to raising their four children: Ray Jr., Terry, Johnny, and Colleen. Her journey was marked by immense strength, determination, and resilience, especially after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis over 30 years ago. Despite the challenges, Pat's indomitable spirit shone through. She never let her disability hinder her zest for life. With her trusty motorized chair, she traveled widely, taking numerous cruises and living life to the fullest. An avid shopper, she also enjoyed a glass or two of red wine and was a formidable player at cards and poker bingo.
Pat's greatest happiness was her family. She adored her children and grandchildren, proudly introducing them to everyone she met, even if they had met them multiple times before. Her love knew no bounds, and her family was her pride and joy. Alongside her cherished family, Pat leaves behind her beloved Chihuahua, Minnie, who was her constant companion.
She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond W. Batt, Sr. (d.2013); parents, John and Sadie Walsh; her sister, Joan Zacher; and two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Baker Batt.
She is survived by her four children, Raymond (Ray) W. Batt, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Canton, MI, Teresa (Terry) Komendowski and her husband, John of Ft. Pierce, FL, John (Johnny) Batt and his wife, Chris of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, & Colleen Gill and her husband, Erick of Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Amanda, Nick, Alex, Michael, Kristin, Jack, Caylin, Lily, Trevor, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Blayke, Gavin, Lincoln, and Rylee (expected to be born on August 8th).
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a cause that was dear to Pat's heart,
