Obituary

Patricia (Patty) Thompson passed away today at the young age of 56. She was graduate of Miami Jackson Memorials RN program spending much of her career as a homecare nurse. Patty was the youngest of three daughters and was preceded in death by her middle sister Adele reasons, late husband Bud Thompson, and parents Jack and Izetta Mattison. She is survived by her beloved son Christopher Thompson and wife Floriana and oldest sister Mary Ann Hilton and husband Bill of Sebastian, all of whom compassionately loved and cared for her.
Pat was a strong willed, independent women with a warm genuine heart. She unselfishly gave up a part of her life and professional career to lovingly care for her first husbands dying mother Mrs. Wanda Thompson and then for her own husband, Bud Thompson during his unsuccessful battle with cancer. Eventually caring for her middle sister Adele Reasons in CA, during her battle with cancer.
Pat was very courageous in her own end of life battle with cancer, rarely showing her emotional trauma to spare her Son any additional grief in the face of her grim prognosis. Pattys mother Izetta, was also an RN and recently passing away at 92 years old. Pat followed in her Mothers career footsteps then also cared for her Mothers needs after her Fathers death.
Pat enjoyed watching old black and white movies, throwing back a few at Earls and riding on a Harley when she had the opportunity. Patty had a very soft spot and special quality in relating with animals. More recently she enjoyed working with her friends at the Eagles Nest restaurant after quitting the nursing profession in the mid 90s. Her family and friends wish her a soft landing on the other side and we will surely miss her mercurial temper as well as her passionate love for those lucky enough to be in her circle of trust. Pat wished for no memorial, and request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to VNA Hospice Care of Vero beach in her honor. Be at peace Patty, for you will surely be missed.
